GH1933 Botanical Therapy Hair Serum

GH1933 is a hair brand company named after the first Korean beauty store that opened in 1933 & GH stand for its Gilt & Heritage. They aim to create simple but powerful hair products based on botanical extracts to reduce the use of chemicals. The brand is created by a famous Korean hairstylist Gunheenim.

This lightweight hair serum is made up of 6 botanical oil extracts & claims to nourish & heals heat damaged hair giving it moisture & shine.

Testing Period:

I purchased this during 08L app Try Now campaign & have been testing this for 1 week. Every night that I wash my hair.

Packaging:

The hair serum came in a matte white box with a minimal clean look with their logo printed. The bottle has a frosted feel & look, but is plastic. It has a black cap & plump that a sturdy plastic. The pump is great & lets out just the right amount of product & never jets out. It’s easy to control the pressure of the plump too. The print on the bottle is embossed a bit & feels nice on the fingers. The bottle fits in the palm of the hand.

Key Ingredients:

1. Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil(Sacha Inchi): An nut from South America, notably the Amazon & rich in alpha-linolenic acid. wiki
2. Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado): lightweight nourishment, stimulate blood flow and unclog blocked follicles. These effects may help fight hair loss.
3. Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut Oil): nourishment, anti-microbial properties, lauric acid, and medium-chain fatty acids that strengthen hair, condition the scalp, and help to regrow hair.
4.  Chamomilla Recutita Flower Oil (Chamomile): Nourish, Heal & Strengthen, Protects from the adverse environmental conditions.
5. Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil (Jojoba): capable of moisturizing hair and its follicles without leaving any residue.
6. Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil: is great for calming the hair of frizz, tangles, and dullness. Fatty acids help to add shine, strengthen, and nourish the hair follicles, which in turn fight off hair loss and brittle strands.

Full Ingredients:

I do not believe this is the full ingredients, but this is what is listed on the box. I can not find the full list online. There might also be Panthenol (healing), but it might be coming from the oils. *Warning* There might be nut based oil used in this. If you have a nut allergy, you may want to be careful with this.

Scent:

The scent is beautiful, a lovely warm sweet scent. The bottle list the scent as Verbena whisper warm & cozy, which really is true the scent. It’s a bit musky, vanilla warm. I love the scent a lot, especially on the hair, I can’t stop sniffing my hair. (I can’t wait for the shampoo & conditioner set to come, they should have the same scent)

Color/Texture/Finish:

The color is a clear & the texture is a liquid oil, that rubs in silky. It reminds me of bio silk hair serum, but lighter & more liquid. The GH1933 oil is way lighter too. I usually avoid hair oils because I have fine, thin Asian hair that gets oily FAST. I wash my hair daily because of this. With this serum, my hair doesn’t feel heavy or sticky & it gives just enough shine that is not greasy. I dye my hair so my ends are pretty fried & dry, this serum soak right in. My hair is so soft after using this. I even put this on my roots, where I usually avoid oil at all count. This oil doesn’t flatten my roots or make it super shiny.  I use about 1 to 2 pumps, which sounds a lot, but that’s how light this oil is.

Hair types/wear:

I think all hair types can wear it, even people with super oily hair, just use less or only on dry hair ends. Ever since I’ve been using this my bleach dyed frizzy ends have gotten better & less frizzy. When I don’t use this my hair isn’t as dry too, but that last 2 days before I have to use the serum again. I like the way my hair feels now. I’m not pulling as much hair out as well, because I usually knot up really bad.

Repurchase:

Yes, I love the scent & the formula is so light that it works great on my fine, thin Asian hair. I know from the first use of most hair oil, if I will like them or not, which is why I don’t use hair oil anymore, but this one was amazing on first use & 1 week in, I’m not finding my hair wanting to wash my hair mid-day. My bangs aren’t sticking to my forehead from greasiness.
